About Us

Cannon Capital Wealth Management is a small firm offering individual wealth management and financial advice to clients whose level of investible assets and pensions are worth typically in excess of £500,000. Our aim is to focus on what matters.

The firm’s principal is Hugo Cannon. Having been an Army Officer in The Black Watch, Hugo started in financial services in the mid-2000s. Hugo was latterly a regional director at a national advisory firm before setting up Cannon Capital in 2020, with the purpose of providing a more personalised and bespoke service to a smaller group of clients.

Hugo has extensive experience advising clients. He is a Chartered Financial Planner, Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and Pension Transfer Specialist, serving individuals and families typically across Scotland and London. Outside of work Hugo lives with his wife and three daughters in Edinburgh. From a farming background he is also involved in two farming operations, one overseas, and the other in Scotland.

Advice Process

Our advice enables clients to make better financial decisions.  Every client we work with has unique needs and is dealt with on an individual basis.  We tailor our process to suit clients on a case by case basis.  However, it always starts with an initial conversation with you.   We discuss your requirements in broad terms, this is an opportunity for you to familiarise yourself more with us and to get a strong feel for how we work. 

If our services fit your needs and you wish to become a client we move to a fact-finding discussion in order to determine your financial status and to dig a little deeper into your goals.  Afterwards, we assess your situation and evaluate options.  We present our recommendations in a financial plan.  Following agreement of the plan we take care of the implementation.

Most importantly you deal with an individual who you will meet in person at least once a year, to assess the plan and gauge your progress.

Charges

We have a tiered charging model based on the sum invested and level of work involved.

We express our charges in a clear and transparent way as a total client charge which includes all fund management fees, product charges, and advice fees.
